The 4th week has ended and

The 4th week has ended and I´m about to tell you about it.

Time went by pretty fast between the 3rd and the 4th week.We could finally finish Guntersville!
The best of all was to finish the trails in 3 weeks. We’ve done hand and machine work. Working with machines might seem easier and faster….it’s only faster!. It’s ever more dangerous for the people and the mountain since due to a mistake someone could die or a section of the place could be ruined in just a few minutes. In these type of projects in which you literally can’t walk through the thick forest where wild insects and the time to create the path is limited, the best option is to work with mechanical equipment. The trails are created for all type of bikers and wheelchairs as well. Full of uphills and downhills  and tons of fun! This is the 1st path that has this features, with them we hope the people at Guntersville Lake Park can see the benefits of MTB. If everything goes well next year we’ll build a longer and more technical loop. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!!Here we are in Alabama. The Project ended a week ago so we finally have time to devote to Anniston community that opened the doors to us.
After a meeting with the president of the local club we agreed to perform maintenance on the gravity trails. These trails are in Couldwater Mountain.
Time to visit Wig's, a Local Bike Shop run by its owner -Patrick-, he lent us bikes and gave us lifts in his car every day to take us to the path to continue working.  if you ever visit Anniston whether or not you are cyclists, Wig's is a must visit point.
Patrick really understand what a trail system can do for the community. It is logical to believe that by owning the local bike shop he’ll support the trails, but it could also do it so by donating a couple of dollars a month and delegate the task to the local club, or he could do nothing and just mind his business which is a very common practice.
Not the case Folks!. In fact, the city hall of Anniston named him personnel on board.Thank you Patrick Wigley, owner of Wig's. Our last days were much easier.

From Alabama we take good memories after having shared time with amazing people who helped us and accompanied on this trip.We say goodbye to Anniston, taking with us a bit of its essence, understanding a little more about the history of this nation. Wanting to come back for the next stage of the circuit.
Our next stop is Colorado.
Farewell Anniston!
